Obituary

William “Dean” Shupert, 48, of Dawsonville passed away Thursday, June 13th, 2019 peacefully at home surrounded by love.

Dean was raised in Cherokee County, Georgia. At the early age of 13 he found the two great passions of his life, cars and racing which lead him to a career at Ford Motor Company as a Transmission Specialist for 30 plus years and meeting the love of his life Kim which lead him to 32 years of marriage and a beautiful family truly blessed by God's Precious Grace.

Dean was a loving husband and dedicated father that always put his family’s needs above his own. He was beyond gracious always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends and complete strangers. He enjoyed life by spending time with family and friends, riding his Harley and reading a good history book. His peaceful retreat was finding a quiet place in the woods. Dean was a simple man that loved God, Guns, and Country and that you should always stand up for what you believe in.

Survivors include his wife; Kim Shupert, mother; Sherry Shupert, his two daughters and their husbands; Kristin and Marc Sikorski, Brittany and Brett Bateman, 4 Grandchildren Cooper, Lexi, Chase and Brody, his siblings; Todd Shupert, Richard Shupert, and Sally Shupert.

Dean was very supportive and caring as an uncle. He changed my perspective on some things, and was always concerned with how I was doing. Everyone should know that he's a great man, and I will be happy to hopefully see him again in heaven.

Dean and I spoke for a long time on the phone a few months back. One of the first things he said to me was that he knew the Lord and had been saved a long time ago. He made it abundantly clear he knew where he was going whenever the Lord called him home, and that he had zero doubts about that. Now he is with loved ones who arrived there before him and meeting ancestors he had discovered through his family tree while here. What a glorious homecoming it must have been! As one of his many friends and co-workers I can say without a doubt we are all better for having known Dean. Not a goodbye, just a "see you later".....

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words.
