Obituary for Larry Smith Sr.

Larry  Smith Sr.
Larry Smith, Sr., 67, of Dawsonville passed away Tuesday November 26, 2013 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.
Mr. Smith had been a resident of Dawsonville for over 20 years, coming from Florida. Born November 6, 1946, he was affectionately known as “Pops”, an avid fisherman, and enjoyed doing yard work. He was a dump truck driver for many years and had been employed by Turner Excavation and Brooks Hauling. Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Mildred Smith, son, Larry Smith, Jr., and brother, Jerry Smith.
Surviving are his wife, Sandra C. Smith, Dawsonville; sons and daughter in law, Troy L. Smith, Dawsonville, Brian C. and Genie Smith, Macon, GA; daughters and sons in law, Connie and Charles Freeman, Covington, GA, Melissa and Rodney Brown, Dawsonville, Michelle and James Carver, Arkansas; sister and brother in law, Debra and Dan Rouse, Oregon; brothers and sisters in law, Jimmy and Brenda Smith, Rock Mart, Roy and Dianne Smith, Rock Mart, Ronald and Connie Smith, Dallas, GA; grandchildren, Craig Smith, Christian Dupler, Cameron Smith, Tabitha Smith, Ashley Dupler, Johnathon Smith; a number of other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 29, 2013 at 7 P.M. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Charles Blackstock will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 P.M. until the funeral hour on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to help offset final expenses.
