Floy Sheffield, 87, of Winder passed away Wednesday June 5, 2019 following a period of declining health.
Born June 17, 1931 in Dawson County to the late Robert and Sallie Burt, she lived in Barrow County since 2003 having moved from Duluth. Floy worked many years at the Rexall Grill in Duluth until her retirement. She loved gardening and working in her flower beds. Mrs. Sheffield was also preceded in death by her husband, Ira Sheffield; son, Danny Sheffield; daughter, Sheila Lockridge; sister, Lillie Burt; and brothers, Hayne Burt, Bobby Burt, and Jim Burt.
Surviving are her daughters, Linda Brookshire, Winder, Wanda Roland, Monroe; son, Bobby Sheffield, Dawsonville; sister, Ruby Crane Duluth; brother, Mike Burt, Dawsonville; 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday June 8, 2019 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ryckie Fernandez will officiate. Interment will be at the Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery at a later date.
The family will receive friends on Saturday June 8, 2019 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
